Get Involved

While our collective remains in a period of transition, we offer a number of ways to be involved. You can join us as a pen pal, become a member of a working group, help us to take next steps in our transition process, or join an abolition-focused book club. More details are available at the links below.

Abolition Apostles is a grassroots, volunteer-powered initiative. We are an explicitly anti-capitalist ministry that believes in organizing outside of the non-profit industrial complex. We see this as a strength and commitment to our values, and it means there are many opportunities to get involved and to create a real impact with Abolition Apostles. Become a Pen Pal

We connect pen pal volunteers with community members on the inside as part of our mission to build connection, offer moral support, and practice solidarity in action. We have more requests for pen pals than we do volunteers, so this is an important way to get involved.

Join a Working Group

Working Groups are completely volunteer-run groups that provide support around specific issue areas or for specific communities of people on the inside. Some of our current working groups include a penpals-backend group, a book club, a finances team, and more. Learn more using the page below.
